How it works

  1. 01

Describe your business, product or project

  2. 02

    Watch the names arrive

Each one comes in with its domain already checked against the registry and scored out of 10. Taken names never reach you.

  3. 03

    Compare and appraise

Star the ones you like, see them side by side across 7 branding criteria, and get a 10-section report on your finalist.

Tuned for app stores

Short enough for an icon

Set a maximum length and every generated name respects it.

One-way pronunciation

Phonetic strategy builds names people say correctly the first time they see them.

Searchable, not generic

Scoring punishes names that would drown among a thousand look-alikes in store search.

The matching domain

Your app needs a landing page. Every name comes with live domain availability.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Your first search runs without an account. A free account includes 10 searches a month, which is 100 available names, live availability checking, favorites comparison, and 1 full report a month. No credit card required.

How do you check availability?

Every name is checked live against DNS and official registry data (RDAP). A name is only shown as available when the registry confirms it has no registration.

Do you sell domains?

No. When you find your name, we hand you off to the registrar of your choice (Namecheap, Porkbun, Cloudflare, Dynadot, or Squarespace) at their normal price. No markup, no commission.

Does the app store name have to match the domain?

It helps: one name across store, domain and social handles compounds recognition. NamingOwl checks the domain live; checking store name collisions before you commit is a quick manual search.
